328am handoff. About to leave Laconia Technical College. Our time cushion is now 20 minutes.
We missed Kristina in the dark and she was waiting at the handoff zone for us for approx 6-8 min. Only bright side is that no went off course (yet, knock on wood). Better she was standing there, not running bonus miles.

I saw two teams lose some serious time like that at VTA 14 (or was 15?). Nothing worse than a runner showing up and everyone calling out the team number only to have no one come.
ReplyDelete...actually, it is worse when your runner goes off course for a few bonus miles. Luckily, that didn't happen to either one of our teams THIS year. But it has seriously sucked in the past. Standing around is no fun, but the rage takes less out of the runner that just finished.
