You asked for it, you got it...

Got an email this morning from our friends at Shifty Car Rental - a customer survey. Too bad for them I got it when I wasn't busy... I'll leave my comment in the comments.

It was such a thrill to run Reach the Beach again this year. So I thought, how can I relive it again, before next year? What is better than a marathon session of photo editing and then posting. Here are a few highlights.

a 6:27 pace... not bad

So I am having the normal post RTB let down and playing on the results page I noticed something interesting with the SLU Alumni All Starz pace. I think the weather was a huge factor in finishing ahead of our estimated pace.

We had our fastest per mile pace this year!

It is so hard to tell how things will shake out year to year because the course change, our competition changes and we change. But I think out per mile actual time is fun to look at.

2005- 6:45
2006- 6:29
2007- 6:34
2008- 6:40

It was all good!!!

I'm back from RTB Relay in one piece. I was a flunky, my postings didn't go. My teammates were great (I think we hit one hour under projected), weather cool and clear, logistic worked out and the people along the way were super. Team took 2nd Mixed and 6th overall; I averaged 6:30's which was better than I thought.

Our seed time was perfect. We ran through the thickest part of the teams at exactly half way. We had some ugly port-o-johns in the beginning and clean(!) ones at the end. Every runner I passed, I said hello -- the two that passed me, didn't say a word even after I said "good job". The highlight of my runs was on my first leg when I past a guy and he asked, "New Balance?" and I said, "No, St. Lawrence!"

Finally back in boston. Vans are returned, we are showered, and I'm drinking whiskey!

St Lawrence University Varsity and JV RTB2009 squads finished 2nd and 6th in the mixed open divisions respectively. Overall results are still in flux.
